Welcome to HotelGuide.Networks' directory of hotels and hotel reviews for Roswell, New Mexico!

The seat of Chaves County in southeastern New Mexico, Roswell is most known for the UFO incident of 1947, which actually occurred in the town of Corona about 75 miles to the north, but became associated with Roswell because the investigation was conducted by the Roswell Army Air Field. Dairy farms and ranches surround the town, and the nearby Bitter Lake National Wildlife Refuge along the Pecos River is home to many unusual and rare species indigenous to the Southwest. One of the more interesting attractions in Roswell is the World War II prisoner of war camp in Orchard Park, where German prisoners built an iron cross from the rocks along the North Spring River, which remains to this day and is now called Iron Cross Park. Roswell has become a desirable retirement community, and is home to a number of educational institutions including Eastern New Mexico University - Roswell in Portales and the New Mexico Military Institute prep school. Roswell offers a full selection of dining options, major chain hotels and smaller lodges and ranches in the surrounding communities.
